Studio work with Andy

David Gray talks about working with Andy on his album Mutineers

From 1.50: “[Andy] had a sense for the music—an intuition that we could break it open in a new way…. That openness created space—to strip things back and discover a new way to express them.

…Several songs, like Beautiful Agony and Mutineers, were written right there in the studio. That was where the process truly happened—it was Andy’s call, and he pushed me into it.

At first, I resisted. I frowned—hard—for hours. But then, as we started to catch glimpses of something new, I forgot my hesitation and threw myself into it. The music opened up in unexpected ways, and those moments became pivotal.

It was a huge creative leap for both Andy and me. I had a stack of material I was eager to work through, but he refused to go down that road. Instead, he challenged me to explore ideas in their earliest, rawest form. As difficult as that was, it turned out to be exactly what I needed.

Nici Ridge, aka Inca Jones, DJ, radio host, singer

I just completed a few sessions with Andy, one-to-one sessions in the studio.

I’m a vocalist, a radio host, and a podcast editor, and I also make music in Ableton. Since I spend so much time on the computer, I’ve learned a lot from YouTube and taken lessons in other places—but the hacks I picked up over the past few weeks have been invaluable.

My workflow is so much faster now, and on top of that, I’m singing in a way I’ve never sung before. Through preparation, I’ve truly found my voice.

And beyond that, the skills I’ve gained—mixing, mastering, automation, and so much more—have been incredibly useful.

I’m so grateful for this experience. Thank you so much!”

Micka , music enthusiast

Hi, my name is Micka, and I recently participated in Andy’s workshop.

It was incredibly interesting to immerse myself in such a professional environment and to explore the possibilities of music production.

I’m a music enthusiast—I play guitar and sing—but this experience introduced me to a whole new world. If you’re primarily a live musician, like me, stepping into music production can be both challenging and fascinating.

I highly recommend this workshop. It’s a beautiful experience, packed with valuable knowledge that Andy shares in a truly engaging way.

One day retreat

Elena Mitsuki, singer

“This journey was incredible. Over the course of several days, we learned how to work with music software, record ourselves—which is especially important for me as an artist—and how to record others as well, stepping into the role of a professional music producer.

The atmosphere in the workshop was full of excitement and joy, which made us feel truly creative. Our team even wrote a brand-new song together, and by the end, we built a full arrangement from scratch.

But the most valuable part of the experience was Andy sharing his years of expertise in the music industry. That kind of knowledge is absolutely priceless.

Thank you!”

Craig Reynolds, MC

I just completed an amazing three-day, in-person course with Andy.

I’m a vocalist, mainly a live performer, and for years, I avoided using Ableton to record myself. I’d seen it in courses before, but it never really clicked for me. What I really needed was some hands-on, face-to-face guidance.

And wow—Andy really opened my eyes to what Ableton can do. Now, I feel much more confident, at least enough to get started, open it up, and begin recording myself.

There’s something really powerful about learning in a group, seeing everything happen live, and working through it together. I’d highly recommend it to anyone—get into a face-to-face session, meet Andy, and dive into Ableton.

Thanks so much!”

4 days retreat in Goa

Imagine for Now:
A song born on a retreat

During the February 2024 Goa masterclass, the group co-wrote and co-produced a track.
From a single hum in the stairwell, a jam session began—and from that, the song Imagine for Now was born. Elena Mitsuki, Craig Reynolds, Nici Ridge, and Micka—each musician attending the retreat—gave their best in the two days that followed. The result? You can listen to it right now!
